When I first looked at Louisiana Christian University, I knew I had to figure out how to afford it. I looked into LCU for their nursing program and also to pursue my athletic career in women’s soccer. When I toured the school in the summer of 2021, I absolutely fell in love with the vintage scenery and the programs held at the university. I knew right then that this is what I wanted to do and where I wanted to get my degree.

It was going to be costly to be far from home and pay for a private school. My parents were very concerned and didn’t want me repaying loans the rest of my life. What more could I have said or done to get their approval? To take this big step into the next chapter of my life!?

When I received the email about the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), I was totally shocked and confused. I sat down with my family immediately and looked over the email what seemed like a thousand times. This was the first I had heard of LRAP.

After several hours of seeing if LRAP would be something right for me, the moment came! My family finally told me I could come to this beautiful university and that we would try and find every way possible for me to get my career started in the right direction.

I was so excited and blessed. I thought it was a dream come true receiving that email from LRAP that day. It truly felt like God had sent this organization my way to help me achieve my true calling. I couldn’t be more thankful for all LRAP is doing for me to get my degree and achieve my goals academically and athletically.

I have always wanted to become a nurse practitioner in pediatrics, and that is what I plan to achieve while attending LCU. I love my LRAP because it has provided me with a chance to pursue my academic dreams.
