MidAmerica Nazarene University Provides Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) for All Incoming Freshmen

October 18, 2018

We are proud to announce that MidAmerica Nazarene University (Olathe, KS) will now provide a student (and parent) Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) for all new incoming freshmen and transfer students via the “Pioneer Pledge”.

Through the Pioneer Pledge, if a student’s income after graduation is less than $43,000 per year, the program provides financial assistance to aid in the repayment of student (and parent) loans taken out to attend. This assistance continues until the graduate’s income increases, or until all related loans have been fully paid off. MNU is the first university in Kansas (and Missouri) to provide a program of this type.

“We believe strongly that we prepare our students well, regardless of their major, through our academic programs,” said Dr. Mary Jones, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “In those cases where students want to pursue their passion and specifically in ministry, education or the arts, it really does provide that opportunity to borrow with confidence that they’re going to be able to repay their loans after they graduate.”

Founded in 1966, the university prides itself in providing a top quality private education for its region and was selected by U.S. News & World Report as among the 2019 Best Regional Universities Midwest, and ranked by Money magazine to be one of only four universities in Kansas on the list of Best Colleges, receiving the highest ranking of any college in its state.

LRAP Association began working with MidAmerica Nazarene University by launching a pilot program late in the 2018-2019 admissions cycle. After experiencing, first-hand, the power of the LRAP promise to influence enrollment decisions among that pilot cohort, the MNU team moved to expand the program. Starting in the 2019-2020 admissions season, every new incoming freshman and transfer student who selects to enroll at MidAmerica Nazarene University will be provided the peace of mind that comes with the Pioneer Pledge – powered by LRAP Association.
