Eastern Michigan University first began offering Loan Repayment Assistance Programs (LRAPs) late in the recruitment cycle for the 2023-24 cohort. With LRAPs, they were able to enroll 40 students after June 15.

“One piece of feedback that we’ve received from students and families in regards to their LRAP offer from Eastern Michigan University has been that it has helped them make their college decision, and moved Eastern to be their top choice of schools that they were considering.” – Katie Condon-Martin, VP of Enrollment Management, Eastern Michigan University

In the video, Katie Condon-Martin, Vice President of Enrollment Management at Eastern Michigan University, describes why EMU decided to offer LRAPs to their students late in the cycle, and how they’ve expanded their strategy as they work to recruit the Fall 2025 class. For Fall 2025 , EMU is also offering LRAPs to education majors.

“Eastern Michigan University started as a teacher’s college, and so we’re using our LRAP as an opportunity for us to continue that mission and support future educators because we know that there’s a lot of hurdles to be an educator in Michigan and in the U.S.”
